Hauptstadt Beacher

About the club

Hauptstadt Beacher is Berlin's first professional beach volleyball club. Founded on April 10, 2017, by Patrick Gruhn, Maximilian Levermann, and Peter Itzigehl, the club's mission is to professionalize Berlin's beach volleyball scene and preserve and develop the sport. The club is a member of the Berlin Volleyball Association and affiliated with the German Olympic Sports Association and the German Volleyball Association (DVV).

Offering

• Training programs: Youth training, training groups for various skill levels, and community training
• Tournaments: Regular official regional federation tournaments as part of the Beach Tour Berlin-Brandenburg, as well as the annual Berliner Sparkasse Premium Cup and Firmencup
• Weekend camps: Training and community activities at Bernsteinsee in Velten
• Membership: Open since 2018 to recreational and amateur players of all skill levels

Location

Based in Berlin-Mitte (Birkenstraße 49), the club trains at BeachMitte and at Bernsteinsee in Velten for weekend camps.

Worth knowing

The club currently has approximately 315 members and 12 professional athletes. In 2017, Hauptstadt Beacher achieved first place at Hauptstadt Masters 61 (DVV Category 1 tournament) and six victories at regional federation tournaments across eastern Germany. The club also qualified for the FIVB World Tour Five-Star event in Poreč, Croatia, and secured the Berlin-Brandenburg championship.
